Sarah Hinnant
I am a native of High Point, NC, and began playing bagpipes when I
was fifteen. I played with Jamestown Pipes and Drums for several
years, until I began college at Appalachian State University. I then
joined the Grandfather Mountain Highlanders Grade III Pipe Band
and played with them for a couple of years. Music and art are my
two loves. In my spare time I enjoy drawing realistic portraits and
painting abstract paintings, which are currently for sale at Moon star
Gallery near Boone, NC.
In addition to my hobbies, I enjoy running and almost anything
involving the outdoors. I will soon graduate from undergrad with a
double major in Psychology and Communication Studies, with a
minor in Political Science.
I am fascinated with spatial perception, specialized intelligence
(such as synesthesia and savant syndrome), and autism. I am
currently conducting a study which utilizes eye-tracking and
memory tests to compare differences in perception among different
visual spatial groups, such as artists and musicians. I plan on getting
a PhD in Cognitive Psychology and becoming a professor.
